Natural materials bring warmth, texture, and useful structure to a room. Choose by the look you want, where the piece will live, and how you plan to use it. Because each fiber and grain develops naturally, subtle shifts in color, texture, shape, and dimensions are part of the character of every XINGNEST piece.

Materials & care
A practical guide to choosing, using, and caring for natural woven baskets and wood objects.
Choosing a natural material
Water hyacinth · Mekong
Water hyacinth has a substantial hand and richly dimensional weave. Its warm tonal variation makes it especially suited to open shelves, entryway storage, living rooms, and other places where the basket remains visible.
Seagrass · Coastline
Seagrass offers a lighter, relaxed texture with naturally varied strands. It works well for everyday organizing in bedrooms, closets, dry bathrooms, and casual living spaces. Keep it away from direct water and prolonged humidity.
Natural wood · Grove
Natural wood adds quiet structure and visible grain. Tone, knots, and grain direction will vary from piece to piece. Use Grove designs in dry interior spaces and protect the surface from standing moisture, strong heat, and abrasive cleaners.
Start with a soft, dry cloth. Do not apply oils, waxes, or polishes unless the product-specific finish instructions recommend them. Check the product page before using any wooden piece for direct food contact.
Routine cleaning
Remove dust with a soft dry cloth, a soft brush, or a low-suction vacuum attachment. For a small mark on a woven surface, use a barely damp cloth and blot gently. Do not soak natural fibers or place them in a washing machine.
Moisture, sunlight & drying
Keep natural-fiber and wood pieces in a dry, well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged humidity, direct water, and strong sunlight, which may affect color or shape. If a woven piece becomes damp, empty it and allow it to air-dry fully in the shade before use.
Shape, weight & everyday use
Only gently reshape a soft, unframed basket when its product instructions allow it. Do not bend a rigid or metal-framed basket. Distribute weight evenly, avoid overfilling, and support a loaded basket from the base.

Are natural variations considered defects?
Small differences in tone, texture, weave, or grain are expected. If a piece arrives damaged, unstable, or substantially different from its description, contact us with your order number and clear photos so we can review it.
